ST. MARK'S DAY SCHOOL

St. Mark’s Day School continues its reputation for excellence. Our goal is to foster and nurture connections …
connections with our parents, with each child, among staff members and with other area Christian preschools.

Staff Connections…A staff that feels connected is a staff that works together to achieve common goals and objectives and ensures a workplace that has positive energy and a happy spirit. St. Mark’s Day School staff has connections that nurture creativity.

The staff of 20 women has participated in several in-service training days that have encouraged team-building and sharing of teaching strategies. The staff has welcomed new teachers with open arms and helping hearts. The staff has gone out of its way to nurture the many families that are new to the area and selected St. Mark’s as their new school.

Each staff member is extremely professional and knowledgeable, and each continues to take a minimum of 16 training hours per year. Church Connections…St. Mark’s Day School has continued its community connection with the following Barrington Christian preschools: St. Michael’s Little Angels, Salem Methodist Preschool, Barrington United Methodist Noah’s Ark, Lutheran Church of the Atonement Day School and St. Anne’s. St. Mark’s Day School Director Jane Smith meets monthly with the directors from these schools to discuss how the Christian schools can work together to make the Barrington area a leader in quality early childhood programming.

The schools together sponsor an annual community family concert featuring a national children’s recording artist.
Community Connections…Director Smith is always looking for ways to make a connection between St. Mark’s Day School and the community. She has written articles for area publications including a regular column called “Teaching Moments” in Quintessential Barrington magazine, participated as a guest speaker at educational events and helped organize community-wide programs for pre-school children.
